What do I need to bring?
The studio is fully equipped with mats, blankets, blocks, straps and a range of other props.
How long before class can I eat?
Yoga is best practiced on an empty stomach. Allow 3 hours after eating a full meal or 1-2 hours after a snack.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing, such as leggings, shorts, singlet or t-shirt. Shoes are not required.
Can I do Yoga with an injury?
Yes. It is important to inform your teacher of your condition prior to the class so that they can modify the asanas (poses) to suit your condition. Iyengar Yoga is a therapeutic yoga system and your practice can be modified in class to assist and work appropriately with your condition.
What if I miss a class?
If you miss a class due to illness, work or family commitments, you can make up and do another class that week or before the end of the term.
Should I inform the teacher if I am menstruating?
It is important to inform your teacher if you are menstruating. There are specific yoga poses that are beneficial to the body and mind during this time. A menstrual practice includes combination of restful postures that may ease pain, fatigue and strain.
How often should I attend class?
Regular attendance to class is encouraged to get the most benefit from class This also encourages consistency in the class. Attending once a week, you will observe benefits. Attend two classes/weekly and you will see and experience benefits and changes to your body and mind more quickly.
Can I get a refund?
There are no refunds once a term has commenced. In exceptional circumstances, please speak to your teacher as soon as possible.
